Get to know us

AcuCare Yorkshire is a values-led, not for-profit training organisation dedicated to empowering the UK Armed Forces community through specialist health education, mental wellbeing support, and inclusive opportunity.

Founded by Neil Rooney, a registered enhanced paramedic and clinical educator with over 25 years of frontline experience, AcuCare was established to bring real-world relevance and practical expertise into community training environments. With a strong understanding of the operational and social challenges faced by veterans, Reservists, Serving Personnel, and military families, the organisation delivers sessions that are informed, inclusive, and impactful.

Our programmes are designed not only to meet national compliance standards, but to respond to the needs of underserved and access-limited communities — particularly those without direct proximity to emergency services or traditional support networks.

AcuCare Yorkshire is proud to work collaboratively with partners, networks, and local organisations to ensure training reaches those who need it most.

AcuCare Yorkshire delivers accredited health education and safety training with professional integrity and flexible delivery options. Programmes can be tailored to suit the operational needs of individuals, groups, and organisations across Yorkshire and beyond.

AcuCare Yorkshire - Armed Forces Covenant Pledge

AcuCare Yorkshire proudly supports geographical or underserved communities as well as the UK Armed Forces community.
We recognise the immense contribution of Serving Personnel, both Regular and Reservists, as well as Veterans and military families. As a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to health, wellbeing, and community empowerment, we are committed to upholding the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant in all areas of our work.

Our commitments are as follows

Support Mental Health and Resilience: We provide free Mental Health First Aid training specifically designed for veterans and military families. Our aim is to foster emotional wellbeing, increase awareness, and promote resilience throughout Yorkshire communities.

Deliver Accessible First Aid Education: We offer flexible and bespoke accredited first aid training to service personnel and their dependants. Our courses are tailored to reflect the diverse needs and circumstances of the Armed Forces community.

Champion Forces-Friendly Employment: We actively promote fair, inclusive opportunities within our organisation for veterans. We recognise the unique transferable skills they bring and are committed to supporting their successful reintegration into civilian employment.

Raise Awareness and Celebrate Service: We take pride in highlighting the value and importance of military service through digital outreach, community engagement, and partnerships that honour the dedication and sacrifice of Armed Forces personnel.

Collaborate for Greater Impact:
We work closely with local Armed Forces networks, veteran support groups, and community organisations. Our collaborative approach aims to extend our reach and create sustainable, positive outcomes in underserved areas.

AcuCare Yorkshire remains fully committed to treating the Armed Forces community with fairness, dignity, and respect.
